Being mentally healthy means attaining overall wellness; be it is emotional, psychological or social we should be at peace with ourselves. Having a calm mind brings inner strength and confidence and also affects how we think, feel and act in our day to day life. Here few are ways to attain mental wellness:
You may know that your body releases stress-relieving and mood-boosting endorphins before and after you work out and this is why working out is a powerful antidote to stress, anxiety, and depression. Exercising could be in any form or ways be it a morning run, taking a long walk, swimming. Try and look for ways to add activity to your day to day lifestyle. For example try taking the stairs instead of the elevator or go out on a short walk.
You should consider taking breaks once in a while:
I know it’s easier said than done but we all need to take breaks every now and then, in times and moments when you feel it all seems like too much and you are too stressed out, stop a little; take a step back and do something you love doing be it anything. Give yourself the break you deserve from whatever was stressing you out until you feel a little better. When you are too stressed out the best thing to do is a simply try the breathing exercise: You need to close your eyes and take 10 deep breaths with long inhaling and exhaling and continue till you feel better.
Put your focus on one thing at a time
We know that you have a number of things to deal with but consider being mindful of the present moment as it allows us to let go of negativity and helps us focus in the present. You can start by being aware of your day to day activities like taking a shower, working out or walking home. Focusing on one thing helps you to perform better and you’ll eventually realize this with practice.
